Your signature assignment for this course will be a 5-8 pages (excluding cover page and references). You should use a minimum of
3-4 sources. In the Case Assignment, you were hired as the HR Director. Now you
have hiring strategies in place and everyone is hired. Nevertheless,
there is a problem again with one of the two employees who initially
had conflict with the other. You realize you now have to fire the
employee because s/he is causing problems in the organization with
gossip, arguing with other employees, coming to work late, and
insubordinate with you on several occasions. You also realize that
once you fire this employee you will need an immediate person to
replace him/her because there is just too much work for you and the
other employee. You inform the CEO of what needs to happen and the
CEO tells you to write your plan on what you feel needs to be done.
For your essay, write a plan that focuses on the following strategies:
Plan to select and hire a replacement for the outgoing
employee
Will it be internal talent, external or a search for both?
Orientation strategy for incoming employee
Policies you plan to follow to terminate the high risk employee
Exit strategy
Retention strategy for the remaining employee (laying off the
other person may scare him/her)
Succession plan to make sure you reduce the risk of on the
spot hiring in the future
Any additional HR policies and/or procedures to ensure
success in your strategies.

Additional writing requirements:
Must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins and typed in
