CMP Project
Using the template provided in the textbook Appendix as a guideline, create a Crisis Management Plan for your company or organization. The template is a guideline. Your version may look slightly different as long as all components are included.
APA 7th edition must be used for all written components including the Table of Contents.
You will need the following components:
Section 1:
Cover page – (3 points) – Must be in APA format (This is different than the title page).
Title page – (2 points) – This page identifies the company, date of revision, etc (see template) (This is different than the cover page).
Table of Contents – (2 points) – Use APA format, not the template version
Purpose of the Crisis Management Team (5 points) – Use the five points identified in the template and add three more specific to your organization
Definition of a Crisis – (3 points) – Refine this section to reflect your organization’s specific definition of a crisis. Do not use textbook definition.
Activating the CMT – (3 points) – Incorporate the items given in the template. Add at least four more that are specific to your organization
Command Center Location – (2 points) – Use the template format and make the details specific to your organization
CMT Members and Contact Information – (5 points) – Utilize the template. Add information specific to your organization
CMT Role Responsibilities – (5 points) – Identify all roles as indicated by the template and as needed for your organization. Expand to include all organizational team member roles. Provide detailed descriptions of each member’s role.
NOTE: Remove the extra space between sections so the plan flows as a single document rather than a set of separate pages.
Section 2:
Responses to Specific Types of Crises – (15 points) – Identify at least two different types of crises your organization could encounter. Compile the needed information and complete the worksheets as instructed. Your SWOT and PEST should be specific to the crisis events you identified. There will be TWO SWOT and PEST analyses – one for each crisis identified. This section will utilize the tables shown in the book. You also need to include the supporting paragraphs as shown in the text. You will need to use the textbook and, at minimum, two other scholarly resources to complete this section. All references used must be scholarly and identified in APA format on a reference page at the end of the written paper.
Important Phone Numbers and Contact Information – (3 points) – Compile/complete as indicated
Prepare a written paper – (30 points) – explaining the organization’s anticipated response to one of the potential crises used in the SWOT and PEST analysis above. Include roles and responsibilities in the discussion. Describe the life cycle of the selected crises and explain what specifically will happen in each phase.
This section of your project will be the most detailed. You need to have a minimum of five full pages of content in APA format including in-text citations. References must be scholarly/academic. A minimum of three references is required in this section. A separate cover page is not needed for this section.
Reference Page – (7 points) – Have at least five scholarly external references shown in APA format.
Spelling, Grammar, and Mechanics – (10 points) – Grammarly.com will be used to determine any writing issues.
Submission – (5) – Document is saved according to instructions and submitted on time.

References – References must be scholarly. Scholarly evidence comes from academic journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics or the Journal of Management. Websites, web articles, news stories, blogs, wikis, and encyclopedias are not acceptable forms of reference material.
