You will be writing a research paper involving a management issue that managers face in the workplace. The topic of the paper will be up to you. There are many issues that can be found in the workplace such as discrimination, organizational justice, bullying in the workplace, conflicts of interest, employee safety, hiring practices, sexual harassment, fraud, internet usage, and environmental concerns. While we may have covered the issue in the textbook, this assignment will give you a chance to read other articles outside of the textbook in order to give you a more in-depth understanding of the issue. With the high number of issues in today’s workplace, you should not have any problems finding a topic. Do not focus on an issue that is tied solely to one company. However, you can certainly use these companies as examples to strengthen your arguments.
When you write about the topic, use the introduction to provide an overall background of the issue and why it is important to discuss it. Then, still in the introduction, talk about how you will organize the remainder of the paper so that it is easier for the reader to follow the paper. Then expand on the topic by discussing more in-depth about different aspects, facts, differing views, or other concerns related to the issue at hand. In the paper, make sure that you also discuss about what you think should be done to improve the issue, and how companies can effectively address such issue.
The paper should consist of a:
Title page
use the entire first page as title page in which you write the title, your name, course information, and submission date.
At least four (4) pages of body
The body of the paper includes everything from the introduction to the conclusion.
A “Works cited” section at the end of the paper in which you list all the citations used in your paper.
The paper should be double spaced, 12 font, 1-inch margins, using Times New Roman. It should be supported by a minimum of four (4) work cited sources (besides the textbook). The library website is a great source for scholarly articles. You can even link the JSU library with Google Scholar, and you can search for and access scholarly articles from the Google scholar page.
The deadline for this project is July 26th, and the paper should be uploaded on or before the due date. Late work will not be accepted. Please refer to the rubric below to know what will be expected from the paper in terms of quality.
IMPORTANT: The paper will be checked for plagiarism via Turnitin. A high similarity score will negatively impact your grade. Therefore, please paraphrase instead of copy/pasting the sentences from other sources, and make sure that you use proper citations, references, and quotes.
