You are to work through an ethical dilemma you have either personally
experienced or observed.
The dilemma could also be one that is currently in process and unresolved. Remember that an ethical dilemma is present when there is a decision involving a conflict or tension
between conflicting values. An example would be observing a close friend stealing from the workplace.
You have an ethical
dilemma because of a conflict between your duty to report a theft of public property
vs. your loyalty
to a friend.
Please reflect on such an ethical dilemma and write a two-page paper, working through
Cooper’s
ethical decision-making model as closely as possible (see handouts under Files).
Of course, your dilemma must be a situation you are comfortable sharing with the group and the
names of real people should be avoided!
