Written Assignments (300 points. 6 x 50 points each), you will have a written assignment due every other week that will be incorporated
into a final project. A rubric for all written assignments will be provided within the Canvas assignment
page. You will have the opportunity to discuss the process of writing these short pieces every week
during class and you will receive feedback from your instructor and your peers. Late submissions will
receive a 25-point deduction. Written assignments represent 30% of your final grade.
For this assignment, choose a piece from your current repertoire (if you are not working on repertoire at the moment, choose a piece you have performed before or that you know very well). Indicate the title and composer.
Write a few sentences about the piece—for example, what you know about it or about the composer, why you are learning it, or why you enjoy performing it (or not). You don’t need to conduct research; simply write about what you know. If you don’t know anything about your chosen work, that’s fine—focus on the features of the work that interest you the most, or on how this piece fits the narrative of your life.
Please be sure your work is free of grammatical errors.
