As a criminal justice practitioner, you must be able to identify resources for those in crisis. Not every community has the same resources available, so it is important to know what exists in your local jurisdiction. Your community may have federal, state, and county resources, as well as non-profit organizations and services. In this summative assessment, you create a Resource Handbook of the services available in your community. Upon completion, you will have a usable document that promotes solutions for individuals in crisis within your own community.

Research and assemble an 875- to 1,050-word Resource Handbook for mental health resources and services available in your community. Complete the following:
Write a 100-word introduction to your handbook in which you describe the community and the criminal justice organizations within it.
Add sections for the following categories:
Mental health treatment services
Disability and accessibility services
Substance abuse services
Domestic violence services
Housing/shelter services
Veteran services
Sexual assault services
Basic needs support (food and clothing)
Transportation services (Note: When referring individuals in crisis to resources, remember to consider their access to a vehicle and driving ability.)
Identify at least 20 community resources from the categories above. Write a 40- to 50-word description for each resource that includes the following information:
Name of the resource or agency
Physical address
Phone number
Contact person
Website of the resource or agency
Cost to individuals (e.g., accepts insurance, sliding fee, free)
Services provided by the resource or agency
Write a 150-word recommendation for additional resources or services that fill a need in the community.
