Each student will write a short paper based on a film, series, or book that explores a different culture or group with which they are unfamiliar. The paper is to be between 5-7 pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and written according to APA 7th edition requirements. Students must use and cite a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles in the paper. The document attached lists book, film, and series suggestions, but please note you may use a book, film, or series not listed.
Papers should include the following:
Why you chose this population and why you chose this film/series/book.
What you’ve learned about this population from the film/series/book and the peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles.
Common challenges that this population encounters.
What social workers can do to help mitigate these challenges for individuals in this population (or for this population as a whole).
