What about a positive police-citizen interaction?

Training and mentorship can only get people so far, not only in policing but in any profession. Consider an individual who possesses extensive technical knowledge and training but cannot get along or relate to co-workers or customers. Consider the physician who focuses purely on the disease and its symptoms and not the cure. Now consider the police officer who focuses only on the application of the law but cannot de-escalate a situation. One negative police-citizen interaction can have long-lasting effects and reflects poorly on all officers. The citizen’s perception, which is their reality, is that if one officer is rude to them then all police officers are rude.
For this assignment, answer the following.
What does it take to be a great police officer? What is the biggest future challenge for law enforcement, and why? Where do you see law enforcement, as a profession, in 20 years? What is the biggest stigma that law enforcement needs to overcome and how can they accomplish this? Lastly, provide an example of what you consider to be a negative police-citizen interaction. What about a positive police-citizen interaction?
