Using the book (Appendix A- Sample of a Group Proposal) as a guide, this first assignment is the writing of a group proposal of the student’s projected group that they will role play in class. The paper is an independent assignment illustrating your vision for the group plan. The following items are required in addition to the subheadings included in the sample proposal in the book:
1) The actual proposal of your projected group (The purpose of the group, Where, Why, When, How often etc.)
2) A description of the rationale for your group (why is this group needed) the social worker’s role, a discussion of anticipated issues relating to culture, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, spirituality, aging, and social class and projected impact upon an 15 agency and community. Address any issues related to human rights and social and economic justice.
3) Attach a bibliography including at least 3 sources (APA 7th edition format). Students are to integrate the literature into Part 2 of the assignment. The use of literature is crucial to the development of your group. This paper should be 4-5 pages long and in APA format.
