Introduction – (30 points)
Introduce your paper topic, including basic background information, and a thesis statement. This
can include anecdotal experience if you wish, as long as your paper supports your topic idea with
qualitative research.
Objective Description of the Topic (FACTS) – (200 points)
This is the bulk of your paper, and you should give a clear discussion of the relevance of your
findings to the topic, including significance of the subject, its relation to other events at the time
(or other figures of the time, depending on the subject), and a detailed analysis of evidence that
supports your topic. All facts should be backed by sources.
Conclusion – (30 points)
Summarize your findings as they relate to the thesis statement, and tie the research material to
the course overall. Ensure that your conclusion supports and complements your introduction.
References – (20 points)
No paper is complete without references. Please include these on a separate page (not included in
the 5 pages required of the assignment)
