Due Thursday
This week you learned about how to manipulate radical expressions. You learned how to simplify, multiply, divide, add, and subtract radical expressions.
Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
Conduct an internet search to find one career that uses radical expressions in their job. How do people in this position use radicals? Provide an example in your explanation.
Due Monday

Hello all,
From the research that i found the financial industry uses rational expressions in the day to day job. they use it to figure out interest, depreciation and inflation for instance home buying. you can use these expressions to come up with how much a home buyer is going to be paying when they purchase a house. for instance if you buy a 500 thousand dollar home with a 1.2 percent interest rate for over 30 years you can caculate how much extra money you will be paying on top. the equation would look something like 500,000 times 1.2 time 30 would get you the amount of money you will be paying on top of the 500K. the most common would have to be civil engineering. when trying to find the length of a side you use a rational expression like pythagoras theorem to find the missing side. once they find the side that they are looking for you are then able to determine how much materials they need to complete the job. we use radical expressions all the time and we do not even know about it. it is so useful to know and learn from of the common expressions to help us in everyday life.

There are several jobs that use radical expressions, for example, occupations in management, computers and mathematical, farming, production, engineers, health diagnosing and treating, business and financial and few others. Radicals are very important; they give us a way to be specific by using shorthand. Would you rather type 1.4142135623… or √2̅? ; it’s much more compact and accurate.
An example I found was was the use of radical expressions in the career of electrical engineering. Within the field of electrical engineering, the use of radical expressions has to do with determining how much electricity is flowing through circuits. One of the simplest formulas in electrical engineering is for voltage, V = √PR, where P is the power in watts and R is the resistance in the measurement of ohms.
I have always tried to steer away from math courses in my school career so going through this course is a bit challenging for me but I am here for it. It does feel great to advancing my math knowledge and learning how I will be applying these methods in my future career.
