Exploratory research is conducted to provide a better understanding of a situation. This written assignment will be a short 1000 to 1200-word document that details the exploratory research you undertook in support of the larger research project you are working on. This could be a literature search, interview, a focus group, case analysis, an ethnography, or truly any sort of research task that helps you gain insights to answer your research question.
The paper should quickly:
Explain your larger research project and specifically list the decision and research problem (s)
Explain how you considered primary & secondary data gathering options and settled on this exploratory research approach
Detail the setup and administration of the research
Make initial connections between your secondary and primary data (if you have primary data)
Share how the insights from your research will help you take next steps and begin descriptive or causal research activities
The paper is largely graded on your ability to detail the progress you have made while demonstrating critical thinking that best serves the needs of your business client.
