Introduction and Alignment
Health care in the United States is a mix of public and private providers, for-profit and nonprofit insurers, and health insurers. The federal government helps fund Medicare for people aged 65 and older, programs such as Medicaid for low income individuals, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
In addition to Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP, there are programs such as the VA, Tricare, FEHB, FEDVIP, and IHS. Examine these additional government programs and compare their services and to whom they provide services.
