before posting, please review the following guidelines for successful participation in this discussion:
Provide a well-thought out response that fully addresses the questions or points presented. Try to include information or examples from the assigned readings and videos. Your initial post should be a minimum of 100 words.
When responding to the posts of your classmates, make a valuable contribution to the discussion. Simply agreeing or disagreeing adds little to the discussion and doesn’t promote a mutually beneficial learning environment. Expand on the original post in a meaningful and relevant way. Please remember to keep your posts respectful to contribute to a friendly and helpful learning environment. Your response posts should be a minimum of 50 words each.
Write in complete sentences and check for grammar.
Write in your own words. Copying another’s work is considered plagiarism per the syllabus. View the following brief guide on plagiarism and utilize the citing sources located in Library Resources.
ALSO I NEED TO RESPOND TO TWO PEER:
1.The event that I thought was the most interesting was the Financial Wellness Workshop. Although it may not be what is normally thought of when the subject of diversity and inclusion is brought up, it touches on an area of diversity that is not as widely promoted as others; diversity of socio-economic background. Some people have the privilege to grow up in a household where worrying about money or a budget was not an issue, while sadly others did not.
I think that NOVA sponsors this event not only to help students learn to manage their finances, but also to give more privileged students the opportunity to see money and finances in a different light. A workshop focusing on the buildup and management of funds provides the chance for students who have never had to manage their own finances to get a taste of what it would be like to live in a different background or household. This workshop could be a tool for the acceptance and understanding of a group of people with diverse socio-economic backgrounds. 2.The event that I thought was most interesting to me was the Health Insurance literacy workshop. It is a virtual workshop to help give people information to figure out which healthcare is the right fit for them. I chose this event because It gives people the opportunity to really understand how insurance works and the different options that are available. Events like this help many people and enlighten their understanding of health insurance and provide help to a community of people who need it. Also, healthcare experts will be available during the workshop to answer questions anyone has and reliable recommendations for you. 2.
