Is this the same as other decisions made by the company about sustainability or is it different? If different, how is it different from installing solar panels or an advanced wastewater recovery system?
What is the role of consumer brands in developing sustainability practices through the supply chain? Who pays for change, and why?
Examine the trend for “sustainable fashion”. Are consumers willing to pay more for fashion because it makes them feel good? What is the evidence? At what point is the only way to achieve sustainability to consume less? Try to separate form from a substance in the sustainable fashion trend.
Examine outcomes, positive and negative, if Dakota goes ahead and invests in Texloop without further deliberation? What sort of guidance should it seek from H&M? Is it prepared to cover losses and for how long? In the event of a black swan, such as COVID-19, how should it prepare? What happens to the triple bottom line when economic and financial shocks overwhelm business?
