I ask you to compare two non-western European civilizations in terms of their adaptation/reaction to the western European presence. These reactions range from total exclusion to partial acceptance. Explain, please, why the two civilizations which you have chosen reacted as they did. If you want, some informed speculation as to whether the response was successful (you’ll have to define what “successful” means) also would be of interest.
