The main objective of this 1-page personal statement is to show admissions officers why I have chosen to pursue a career in medicine. Some questions I must answer include:
– Why do you want a career in medicine?
– What motivates you to learn more about medicine?
One writing challenge for me was showing and not telling. That is, I hope my essay includes descriptive details.
There is a 5,300 character limit (including spaces) for this essay. This equals about one page of writing, single-spaced. There is no need for sources of any kind.
I have attached two versions of my essay. I think they can be combined into one cohesive essay that describes why I believe I could be successful and fulfilled as a physician.

– my experience in education research and how I developed a passion for statistics and public health (biostatistics and epidemiology)
