Research
TMJ joint which stands for temporomandibular (jaw) joint is made of up of several various bones in the mandible, which we use of a daily basic. As stated by (Saladin et al, 2021, p.285) the TMJ joint is made up of the condyle of the mandible with the mandibular fossa of the temporal bone, you can find that joint fingertips against the jaw above the ear while you open and close your mouth. Also stated by (Saladin et al, 2021, p.285) the synovial cavity of the TMJ is divided into superior and inferior chambers by an articular disc, which permits lateral and medial excursion of the mandible, there are also two ligaments that support, one is the lateral ligament, which prevents posterior dislocating of the mandible and also prevents the condylar process from moving upward and affecting the skull. Lastly is the sphennomandibular ligament on the medial side of the joint extends from the sphenoid bone to the ramus of the mandible, this extends from the styloid process to the angle of the mandible is not apart of the TMJ proper (Saladin et al, 2021, p.286). Also stated by (Saladin et al, 2021, p.286) a deep yawn or other strenuous depression of the mandible can dislocate the TMJ by making the condyle pop out of the fossa and slip forward. The joint is relocated by pressing down on the molar while pushing the jaw backwards. The TMJ dysfunction affects 20 to 30 percent of adults and is a very uncomfortable pain that most have to take a lot of painkillers for, the systems can range from clicking, popping, and grating noises; this leads to problems with chewing, talking, and yawning. The best course of treatment for some of relief for TMJ dysfunction are medication that can be prescribed by a doctor such as pain meds or muscle relaxers, lessening your stress level because it can come from stress, and also seeing a TMJ specialist (Saladin et al, 2021, p. 286).
Critical Thinking
TMJ is one of the most common pains that can happen related to the mouth that you cannot solve with just as simple as taking medication or having a surgery, its one of those things that hasn’t been studied enough to find a cure, I worked as a dental assistant for a year and I witnessed several cases of TMJ dysfunctions and it is a very painful experience and also very traumatizing because it can without proper knowledge of it your mouth can get stuck because if it and really freak you out. If you do experience TMJ, go to your dentist and he can recommend a TMJ specialist, who can help.

Teach the topic to students. Responses must add new information not previously discussed. Consider new factual information tied with critical thinking. Share interesting and current research on the topic.
Use APA citations in the post to clarify sources.
Do not simply summarize another student’s post and agree/disagree.
Consider starting out posts with, “A research article I found said,” “Did you know,” or “Three things I found interesting were… .”
CRITICAL THINKING (Label this section)
Pose new possibilities or opinions not previously voiced.
