•do not just summarize the documents or quote from the editors’ introductions.

You must write one 5-7-page research paper examining one of the “document projects” in the Women and Social Movements Database. You can access it through the databases section of the University Library.
•The document project must fall in the period between European Settlement of North America and 1869. You may use any document project that falls within that period except for the one assigned in class.
•Your paper should have a strong and clear historical argument that uses the primary documents in support of your thesis.
•Do not just summarize the documents or quote from the editors’ introductions. You should seek to make an analytical argument, relying on the primary source documents contained in the document project for evidence.
•While you may use course readings and lectures as background information, your paper should be firmly grounded in the primary sources in the document project you chose.
•Please do not do any outside research.
