Discussion of the specific jazz concepts the artist uses in the album

In this paper, you will discuss an important album by a major jazz musician. I have provided a list of acceptable albums inside this folder. The major items you will discuss in the paper are:
A description of the songs on the album (or if it has very many short songs, as in some of the compilation albums, a few of the songs. In this case, choose songs that are most important for the artist or most famous). You can discuss form, harmony, improvisation technique, instrumentation, and other aspects of the album that are important.
Discussion of the specific jazz concepts the artist uses in the album
Discussion of the artists’ style, as heard in the album
Why this album is significant for the artist?
Why this album is important in jazz history?
This paper SHOULD NOT focus on the artist’s biography, although brief details of the biography may be necessary when discussing historical significance.
The requirements are as follows:
The paper must include a references list if you reference any sources in your report
The body of each paper must be at minimum 1000 words long (not counting header information and works cited), that shows evidence of a critical analysis of the album and how it relates to the subject matter presented in our class.
The sources that you use will vary depending on the paper (you may not even need to reference external sources). They can include books, journal/magazine articles, web sites, and recordings. Your textbook, Wikipedia, dictionaries and encyclopedias should not be used as sources; however, you may wish to begin your search there.
Any sources you use must be cited, both in-text (either using parentheses or footnotes) and in a works cited list. You are welcome to use either MLA (Modern Language Association) or University of Chicago manuals of style.
