I have to pick four of the questions/ topic to write about.

4. Create 2 character profiles: one for the Hua Mulan of the poem and one that reflects the
persona found in the Disney 1997 film.
5. Using a storyboard or comic illustration format, narrate two Tang Dynasty poems from the
Columbia Anthology of Traditional Literature.
6. Describe to a friend the nature of the love found in “The Story of Yingying” – use evidence from

7. Compare and contrast two poems from the Columbia Anthology of Traditional Chinese
Literature that take up the theme of nature.
8. Use one or two of the quotes about translation (see week one) to guide your
