On behalf of Chobani, I am here today to discuss why the defendant Alex Jones is responsible for the disparagement of property in regards to my client and his company Chobani. Alex Jones has made many defamatory and flat-out wrong statements about my client. These statements have damaged my client’s reputation and his business. The defendant is responsible for defaming my client and Chobani’s name as a whole. The defendant’s comments on his website have caused his supporters and others to portray my client’s company in a terrible light.
The defendant’s statements about my client are false. My client’s support of accepting refugees into America has no grounds to say that he is importing rapists. These comments are false and there is no hard evidence supporting these claims. The claims made by the defendant are a combination of information relating to Twin Falls, with no evidence to back up that this information has anything to with Chobani. My client has been continuing his efforts to help refugees by offering them employment in his factories. There is no evidence to support that the refugees working for Chobani are related to anything that is happening in Twin Falls.
We will show that the defendant knew that the statements he was making were false, but he continued to make them. We will also that these statements have caused backlash on Chobani and have negatively affected their business and name. The plaintiff is seeking damages to be rewarded to him to compensate for the loss of business and reputation caused by the defendant’s actions and statements.
