As we continue researching our issue, we will start to formalize our “working bibliography”. An annotated bibliography is a formal document that provides a brief summary / commentary on a group of sources, in addition to the citation information (MLA, APA, CSE….). These annotations should be one paragraph long and will summarize the source as well as comment on its usefulness to our research project. The citation format system (MLA, APA..) will reflect the style we choose as most appropriate for our area of research.
For this assignment, we will create an annotated bibliography of, minimum, ten sources. Each of the sources should clearly relate to a specific aspect of our general research topic. For example, if we were to initially consider, in our first stages of planning, media targeted toward high school students regarding the issue of body image, I might direct my annotated bibliography toward sources that describe and analyze the “types of media” that do the targeting. The sources should reflect the aspect of the topic most in conjunction with our narrowed focus.
