INSTRUCTIONS FOR CURRENT AFFAIRS PAPER:
Issues pertaining to criminal justice and juvenile justice surround traditional and social media.
They are reported from a variety of perspectives. During the course of this semester, research and
select one news story related to juvenile justice. Make sure it is a story in depth enough to write a
paper about what you learned.
After selecting and researching a news story, write a 2-3 page paper critically analyzing what you
discovered about the story and the article itself; thinking about how the situation impacts the
community as well as the criminal justice system. Make sure you apply material from this course
(theories, concepts, terms, etc.). Think about whether or not there are any differing perspectives.
Your written document must be 2-3 pages long as a Microsoft Word document Font size should be 12 point, double spaced, with 1 inch margins on all sides.
