QUESTIONS (CHOOSE ONE PODCAST): All papers should be written in YOUR OWN WORDS and in complete sentences and paragraphs. If unsure of format, then contact instructor.
Identify basic information (source, title, date, speakers, etc.) before listening to the podcast and/or reading the accompanying transcript. Consult the written transcript before writing your paper for correct spellings of names and places.
In your own words, SUMMARIZE the main ideas/concepts/events described in the podcast. In other words, demonstrate that you’ve listened to and understood the podcast. Do not quote directly from the transcript itself; please write in your own words. You may also want to consult the Learn More links provided some podcasts.
In your own words, explain the SIGNIFICANCE of the material in the podcast AND how it connects to the bigger historical picture (context) of what you’ve learned in the course (i.e., textbook and other materials). Go beyond just summarizing the contents to explain how they link to the BIGGER PICTURE and historical understanding of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.
Papers should be 2-3 pages at least (double spaced). It’s usually better to be longer than shorter. Be sure to address all questions, not just 1) and 2).
