Religion Summaries: There will be seven (7) “religion summaries.” The assignment is as follows:
You are to summarize religions that we cover in class, providing a 1 – 3-page typewritten summary, covering the following outline/rubric:
1. Historical Background/Origins 2 points
2. Major Beliefs & how they relate to the culture 2 points
3. Views on life, death, afterlife 2 points
4. Evolution of the religion (e.g., different sects or offshoots) 2 points
5. Modern views & Contemporary issues 2 points
Total points for each summary10 points
Religions that you must choose from are listed below. All submissions must be submitted in a word processed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, one-inch margin document. Submissions must also contain a heading stating: course name and section, instructor name, student name, and date of submission. Use the above rubric as subheadings in your paper.
