Prompt: define and defend what you think is the most appropriate operationalization of democracy?
Three main parts/headers: operationlization, application, comparison.
Operationlization:
-Definition of democracy:
How to measure and turn concept into variables:
-State measurement metric of your variables (categorical, ordinal, dummy or continuous)
-Brief discussion of the validity and reliability of your democracy variable and the reasoning.
Application: apply operationalization to a country case
-Select democratic country, and how its democracy has varied overtime. (at least 10 years of time)
-Discuss two events (causing a change in the value of democracy for your country)
Comparison: compare operationalization of democracy to an alternative operationalization of democracy.
-1 paragraph used to describe a different operationalization.
-1-2 paragraphs are used to discuss strengths and weaknesses of your operationalization compared to the alternative.
Times New Roman, 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, and citation page at the end with MLA format. Please also include
in text citations.
