Just to give you more information on who I am, My name is Tiffany Thomas, I’m 35 yrs old, and I’m currently attending Lone Star College for Nursing. I’m currently taking only my core curriculum and going for my Assoicate of Science Degree (AAS). I have attended Lone Star since 2017. I decided to go back to school because I wanted a better education and to provide a better life for my son Troy. I also wanted to accomplish my goal in life which is to obtain a degree behind my name. That is very important to me. I work full time for Houston Methodist the Woodlands Hospital in the emergency room as a Sr. Patient Access Representative II. I’m a registrar who obtains patient information and collect payments. Working around the nurses and clinical support team in the emergency room and watching how they help and treat the patients is what made me want to become a nurse. It’s more than taking care of the patients health. It’s the bedside manner and going the extra mile to support them in their most vulneralbe state that i admire about the nurses. I made the President’s list Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 year because of my hard work and dedication in class. This year has been very hard for me. I lost my grandmother in April right before my birthday and did not want to continue class, but having my family support and my son is what kept me going. I was originally enrolled in class for the fall 2022 year in august, but i withdrew from class because my son passed away tragically in july and it crushed my soul. I didnt have the desire to go on or even to complete my degree anymore. But with the help and support from my pastor, therapist, family, and friends, I enrolled back in school for second start to complete my degree for myself, but also i’m doing this for my son. I’ve never been a quitter no matter how hard life has been for me. I hope that i can continue to honor my son memory and complete my degree eventulally. I’m 6 course away from graduation. I pray everything goes well. Thats just a little bit about who I am. If you need more information to complete the essay, please let me know, and thank you
