What does that mean?”

Your friend has asked you a question
about gender and sexuality, since she
knows you are taking my class. You
would like to show off your smarts, but
you aren’t quite sure of the answer, so you need to do a little research!
Pick one of the following question from your friend:
1. “I heard about a type of person called an Asexual. What does that mean?”
Since the goal of today is to practice all the research skills we need to know for Paper 3, my
requirements for how you answer your friend are going to be very exact. Specifically:
1. Start your reading response with a 2-4 sentence paragraph that is a PERSONAL
NARRATIVE. The point is to try and connect
the research question to your own personal life, but of course you can make up a story
here so you don’t have to tell the truth.
For example: You might write “I actually have a best friend who is always wondering
whether people are straight or gay, and I’ve thought long and hard about this issue
myself.”
2. At the end of your personal narrative paragraph, write a one-sentence Persuassive Thesis
(or Informative Thesis, your choice).
3. Summarize what TWO SOURCES are saying about the topic. Give your own opinion if
you like. One of these sources must come from an online Library Database (attached). The second
source must be from a website (https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2022/08/11028516/asexual-masturbation-sexual-pleasure).
a. Length: The total length of your summary response will be 2-3 paragraphs (160
words minimum, 240 maximum—do NOT go over!).
4. Works Cited: After your response is over, skip a line, write the words WORKS CITED,
then give me a list of the sources you used in MLA Works Cited format.
