In this Study Room we will practice identifying, describing and analyzing our biases, cognitive biases and logical vulnerabilities like defense mechanism, and weaknesses related to social influences, like conformity and groupthink.
FIRST POST
Review the lecture, readings and videos, reflect on your own bias, cognitive biases and vulnerabilities. Then, in your first post describe an example of one of following cognitive biases or weaknesses of reasoning that applies to your own thinking (only share what you feel comfortable with–and, remember to be considerate and respectful of your classmates)
(If you would prefer not share and talk about your own biases or weakness, provide an example, explain carefully how the example is an instance of a cognitive bias or weakness, and reflect on the significance of identifying and treating this weakness or bias.). Try to engage in dialogue, reflect and learn about these very important concepts:
