Analyze how Liberalism, Conservatism, Nationalism, Romanticism, Industrialism, Urbanism, Socialism, Marxism, Imperialism and Darwinism from the 19th century created the events and situations of the 20th century.
Your work then should be done in three parts:
First, explain how the “isms” set the stage, in the 19th century, for the 20th century and the explosive WW1. (2-3 pages)
Second, you should demonstrate how the Treaty of Versailles set in motion the crisis events of the latter 20th century. here you need to demonstrate how the “isms” and the Treaty of Versailles combined as twin disrupted forces, using late-20th century events as your examples. You can even choose modern-day issues such as North Korea issues, rising nationalism in Europe, Middle East issues (such as ISIS, Syrian civil war, Syrian refugee crisis), economic challenges in Southern Europe, Brexit and the EU, or Ukrainian issues with Russia (there are other examples). (2-3 pages)
Finally, as a conclusion, write a conclusion that provides your view of the coming 25-50 years; how will the “isms” continue to haunt us or guide us. (no more than 1 page)
