Responses should be relatively brief (500-750 words), clearly written, and reflective of the
weekly topic. You might briefly summarize the topic of each reading and its main points.
However, it would be impossible to summarize all the readings and arguments presented in any
depth. Instead, please find a few overlapping topics that you find in the readings and present
them as succinctly as possible. Please note that each week, one of the assigned readings has an
asterisk (*) that indicates the article reflects critically on the more generalized textbook
readings. Please make sure to place that reading in the context of how it comments on,
criticizes, or expands the other readings on that week’s topics. You may include some reflection
on how the readings are reflected in your field placement. However the main focus is your
ability to succinctly summarize the readings on their own term.
