Final Portfolio Paper (Marketing Plan)
The portfolio paper covers the topics discussed and presented in the course. The paper will be
evaluated using the Unit Assignments and Portfolio Paper rubric (Appendix A). This assignment
is due in Unit 7.
This assignment is given to provide a professional application of the concepts learned in the
course. Students will create a Christian company and develop a marketing plan for that company.
Ideas must be original and cannot be existing ideas from the workplace or other sources, because
many areas of the marketing plan may have already been developed. Each week the student will
be required to work on their Marketing Plan. The following outline is recommended for the
marketing plan:
• Brainstorming and Creating Christian Company (Week 1)
o Incorporate Christian worldview. In 100 words, choose appropriate scripture
and discuss how that scripture fits into the development of your Christian
company.
• Outline Marketing Plan and Create Brand (Week 2)
o Incorporate Christian worldview: implement 1 biblical passage. In 100 words,
choose appropriate scripture and discuss how that scripture fits into the
development of your Marketing Plan. Implement 1 biblical passage.
• Introduction/Executive Summary (Week 3)
o Incorporate Christian worldview: implement 1 biblical passage. In 100 words,
choose appropriate scripture and discuss how that scripture fits into the
development of your Executive Summary.
• Company Description & Mission (Week 4)
o Incorporate Christian worldview: implement 1 biblical passage. In 100 words,
choose appropriate scripture and discuss how that scripture fits into the
development of your Mission for the Christian company.
• Statement of Goals and Core Competencies (Week 5)
o Incorporate Christian worldview. In 100 words discuss the religious beliefs of
the company. Include how the company will use its religious beliefs to
influence its employees, suppliers, and customers spiritually. Consider topics
discussed throughout the course and the ethical implications of marketing
professionals.
• Situation Analysis (Week 6)
o Environmental Analysis (Competition, Economy, Political-Legal,
Technology, Social-Cultural)
o SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
o Incorporate Christian worldview: implement 1 biblical passage. In 100 words,
choose appropriate scripture and discuss how that scripture fits into the
development of your Situation Analysis.
• Marketing Strategy (Week 7)
o Target Market – Who is it?
o Marketing Mix
▪ Product Strategy
▪ Distribution Strategy
▪ Price Strategy
▪ Promotion Strategy
▪ Target Market
o Implementation Plan: How will you roll out your product? How long will it
take? Is it temporary or permanent?
o Evaluation & Controls: How will you measure success and when?
o Incorporate Christian worldview: implement 1 biblical passage. In 100 words,
choose appropriate scripture and discuss how that scripture fits into the
development of your Marketing Mix.
• Conclusions and Recommendations from a Christian Worldview.
o Implement 1 biblical passage. Conclude your marketing plans with God.
Prepare the Portfolio Paper using the following guidelines:
▪ 1,500 – 2,000 words using APA formatting, including title and
reference pages.
▪ Minimum of 7 scholarly references.
Prepare the Portfolio Paper from a Christian Worldview using the following guidelines:
▪ Include biblical application for each section of the Marketing Plan.
▪ 700 words using Bible APA formatting.
▪ Minimum of 8 Scriptures.
o Total Portfolio Paper: 2,200-2,700 words.
