Briefly explain the specific behavior you are asking your audience to adopt. This behavior should be supported by the research literature and clearly related to the chosen issue.

What risk and protective factors are present with this audience that contribute to the issue?

Conduct formative research
Identify your Four P’s in relation t the behavior addressed.
What questions would you ask of this target population to assist you with the Four P’s?
Develop a script for a focus group.
Consider the above Four P’s and potential questions when developing the script.
Construct open-ended questions and include follow-up questions.
Implement a sample focus group. If possible, it is recommended that you conduct an actual focus group. If this is not possible, be sure to develop your questions based on the information gathered during your secondary analysis (steps 1 and 2 above).

Consult your focus group participants.
Ask them to review and proofread your poster.
Take notes of their responses and any suggestions they may have.

Incorporate edits or suggestions from your pre-test
Finalize your poster content
Be sure your message is very specific.
Be sure your priority audience is clear.

All graphics and text should be appropriately used
