This is a hopefully short paper.
(Again – check the directions … I’m really only looking for a page or so in length on all of these. Get in, get out, be done).
I DO think this is an interesting one, however!

Let me know your thoughts on this after you’ve watched these.
Take a position on whether you think the Olympics actually make sense to host.
BUT, don’t just say “yes” or “no.”
Let me know why. What would you have done (or what would you do) differently? Let me know how you would propose to change any of this to fix things. Are there issues with sustainability (especially … will any of these be used AFTER the Olympics are done?). What about local impacts? What about pure spending, and bringing light to other “costs” such as pollution, traffic, or even the displacement of locals during the games (keep in mind, the Olympics will be back in LA in 4 years, but other major cities also host every 2 years!)?
And one more thing … just please remember that a) nearly every Olympic games have these issues (which is weird that people still keep bidding to host even though they know the chaos and costs…)
and b) SOME of these issues aren’t specifically related to Japan or their management, as issues with the pandemic, supply chains, the delay from last year … all of these things were outside of their control).
Have some fun with this one … just not $118 million worth (like the opening ceremony fireworks…)
